Offaly's Brian Gavin will referee his first All-Ireland SHC final when Kilkenny and reigning champions Tipperary meet at Croke Park on Sunday, September 4.
Gavin, who is no stranger to big occasions, refereed the All-Ireland Minor final in 2004, the All-Ireland Under-21 final in 2006 and has also been in charge of three All-Ireland semi-finals and two Munster finals.
The Clara clubman is highly-regarded by both players and managers. Westmeath's Barry Kelly will be the standby referee, John Sexton from Cork is the other linesman and the sideline official will be Galway's Alan Kelly.
Gavin's umpires on the day will be Michael Gavin, David Gavin, William Flynn (all Clara) and PJ Lawlor (Belmont).
Johnny Ryan from Tipperary, who will be officiating the minor match, also has All-Ireland final experience having refereed the All-Ireland U-21 final in 2007 as well as the All-Ireland Club final between Clarinbridge and O'Loughlin Gaels earlier this year.
