Mayo Spend Almost €1.2M On Inter-County Teams For 2023 Season

Mayo GAA spent almost €1.2 million on the county's teams over the 2023 season.

As reported by the Western People, figures presented at a county board meeting week showed €1,183, 622 went to the inter-county panels during the 10-month period ending July 31st, 2023.

The figure was approximately €100,000 over the corresponding total for the previous season, despite Mayo reaching the All-Ireland Minor Football Final and the Christy Ring Cup Final in 2022.

The breakdown by team will not be revealed until the financial statement for the year is prepared in advance of the county's convention.

However, the draft figures show €608,747 was generated in commercial income up to July 31st, while €429,496 was collected in gate receipts and fundraising accounted for a further €441,047.

Overall, a surplus of €316,120 was noted over the 10-month period.
