In what was a disjointed performance from Ireland, Andy Farrell's men managed to come out on top 23-10.

Ireland played most of their rugby in the first half with a try from fly half Billy Burns who went over the line after a dummy pass created space in the Georgian defence.

The away side hit back shortly afterwards with a wonderful individual try from Giorgi Kveseladze, who weaved through Ireland's defence and touch it down.

After a sustained period of play from Ireland, the home side got the ball out wide for Hugo Keenan to cross over in the corner, making it 20-10 going into half time.

The second half was considerably less action packed as a number of errors and penalties prevented either team from creating a rhythm to their play.

A single penalty from substitute Ross Byrne was all Ireland could muster in the second half, meaning it ended 23-10.

The win means Ireland finish second in their group behind England on four points, and they will play Scotland next weekend in a third place playoff.

England managed to secure top spot in Ireland's Group A yesterday with a win over Wales.
