What the papers say

Jadon Sancho’s transfer to Manchester United could go ahead after all, with the 21-year-old England man pushing his agent to make it happen, according to the Manchester Evening News. United’s enthusiasm for Sancho was said recently to have waned, given the strong form of their 19-year-old forward Mason Greenwood. But Sancho has reportedly asked his agent to secure the move this summer, having been disappointed that it failed to pan out last year.

Frank Lampard heads the list of contenders to replace Roy Hodgson as Crystal Palace manager, the Daily Telegraph reports. Hodgson’s contract expires at the end of the season and Palace are contemplating a change. Lampard has been out of work since being sacked by Chelsea in January. In other reported coaching news, Tottenham are interested in Fulham’s Scott Parker and Barcelona have made contact with Bayern Munich’s outgoing coach Hansi Flick’s agent amid doubts over Ronald Koeman‘s future at the Nou Camp.
