Elliot and O'Brien to face-off for Galway Plate

Gordon Elliot will be looking to capture his fourth Galway Plate in five years.

UPDATED: 4.11pm

Racing continues at Ballybrit today with the Tote Galway Plate the day's main attraction.

There's eight races on the card again today, with the Tote Jackpot Novice Hurdle getting proceedings underway at 4.45pm.

Gordon Elliot will be hoping to clinch his fourth Plate victory in five years with four runners in the main event.

However, the bookies' favourite, Galvin has been ruled out with a bruised foot, marking a huge blow to Elliot's hopes of claiming the €200,000 prize.

Joesph O'Brien will also be hoping for a look-in with Early Doors, owned by JP McManus.

The Tote Galway Plate is due to run at 6.45pm.
