Beyonce announces world tour, with two Irish dates

Beyonce has unveiled plans for a world tour, including two dates in Ireland.

The 31-year-old singer announced a string of dates for the 'Mrs Carter Show' on her website shortly after her performance at the Superbowl halftime show last night.

The first show will take place in Belgrade, Serbia on April 15.

The European dates - which include eight stops in Ireland and the UK between April 29 and May 7 - come to an end in Stockholm, Sweden, on May 29, and the star will then take a month's break before returning to the stage at Los Angeles' Staples Center on June 28.

The Irish dates are May 11 and 12, in The O2 in Dublin.

Beyonce - who is married to Jay-Z, aka Shawn Carter - will end the tour on August 3 in her spouse's hometown of Brooklyn, New York. The final show will take place at the newly-built Barclay's Centre, which the '99 Problems' hitmaker owns a share of.

A tour poster was accidentally leaked on Friday, revealing the name of the shows, a day after Beyonce teased she was planning something.

She said: "I may have an announcement after the performance. Fans should just stay tuned to see."

The shows mark Beyonce's first tour since 2009.
