Kenny confirms construction-sector jobs plan
The Taoiseach has confirmed plans to unveil a major new jobs plan for the construction sector later this week.
Enda Kenny said Ireland must kickstart a revival in the building trade, not only to address rising house prices but also to get builders back to work.
His comments come after a new report found rent prices had increased by an average of 9% nationally in the last 12 months.
The Taoiseach said the best way to address the chronic shortage of housing was to start building more homes.
