A 38-year-old man has been remanded in custody in connection with the death of a doorman at a Cavan nightclub by a special sitting of Ardee District Court.

A 38-year-old man has been remanded in custody in connection with the death of a doorman at a Cavan nightclub by a special sitting of Ardee District Court.

Michael Cavanagh of Fortlawn Park, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15 was charged with recklessly driving a car in a manner likely to cause risk of death or serious harm to Hugh O'Brien.

Mr O'Brien, a father of four, was run down outside the Carrick Springs Hotel at Crosskeys on Sunday morning.
