Chelsea face an anxious wait to discover if their Champions League win over Sparta Prague will be marred by an injury to star striker Adrian Mutu.
The Romania hitman bagged four goals in three games for the Blues following last month's £15.8m (€22.4m) move from Parma.
However, he had to be taken off at half-time in Prague after a foul from behind by Rastislav Michalik on 30 minutes left him needing treatment on a sore ankle.
Mutu's £16.8m (€23.8m) strike partner Hernan Crespo also suffered a disappointing evening, as he wasted a hat-trick of chances on his full debut for the club.
William Gallas came to the rescue with an 85th-minute winner as the Blues scraped through 1-0, but Claudio Ranieri asked the Chelsea faithful to be patient with Crespo following his move from Inter Milan.
He said: "Crespo is in a difficult position because he had a different pre-season to the rest of the squad and is not in a condition to score goals yet.
"But he's a clever player and he will get better. He had a couple of great chances but I'm not disappointed he didn't score.
"That can happen to any striker. He will always create chances and soon enough he will get goals for Chelsea," quotes The Sun.
