The ISEQ-index of Irish shares surged into positive territory this morning charging ahead by 339.31 points to 6808.6.
The banking big guns all performed well, AIB lead the way gaining 42c to €15.40. Anglo Irish Bank was up 34c to €9.84, Irish Life and Permanent also did well up 20c to €11.61, and Bank of Ireland gained 19c to €9.89.
Elsewhere the construction industry followed the positive trend, Grafton jumped 15c to €5.20 with Kingspan close behind up 9c to €10.44. McInerney didn't perform quite as well up just 1c to €1.56.
Bucking the positive trend were bookmakers Paddy Power, plummeting 55c to €19.50.
