Robbie Williams picked up a hat-trick of titles at the Brit Awards as he extended his lead even further as the events biggest ever winner.
He was named best male solo star, while Rock DJ took the best single and video prizes.
Coldplay landed the best British group award while their debut LP Parachutes was best album.
Madonna who has previously had nine nominations and has gone away empty-handed each time, finally had a reason to celebrate. Her first ever Brit came for best international female.
Williams has now taken 12 Brits - four with his old group Take That and now eight on his own.
This year's tally repeats his 1999 win when he again took best male, single and video.
There was disappointment for Craig David who left empty handed. The R&B star had picked up the highest tally of nominations ever as he fought for six awards.
Brits organisers commented: "In the history of the Brit Awards there have been previous occasions when artists who have made a dramatic impression on both the British public and the UK Top 40 singles and album charts have not won an award.
"Jamiroquai have been nominated a total of 13 times between 1994 and 2000 and are yet to collect a gong."
U2 went to the awards knowing they had taken one title, an outstanding contribution prize for their two-decade career in music. They also left with a further prize for best international group.
