Poet’s Voice has Celebration Mile target

Godolphin’s Group One-winning colt Poet’s Voice has the Betfair Celebration Mile at Goodwood as a potential comeback target.

The four-year-old ran away with the Group Two contest last year and used that race as a platform for the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes, where he beat Rip Van Winkle in a thrilling finish.

He disappointed when last seen contesting the Dubai World Cup but a return to racing in Europe is not far away for Saeed bin Suroor’s charge.

Godolphin racing manager Simon Crisford said: “We’re looking forward to seeing him back.

“We gave him a long time off after the Dubai World Cup and he will probably come back to Goodwood for the Celebration Mile.”
