Offaly 1-13 Cork 2-10
Offaly grabbed a much-needed share of the spoils at O'Connor Park today as Neville Coughlan's second half goal helped the Division 1A strugglers earn a draw with two-goal Cork.
Two long range points from Brendan Jer O'Sullivan helped the Rebels to a 0-05 to 0-04 half-time lead - with both sides combining to hit a poor 13 wides between them.
James Masters (37 minutes) and Kevin O'Sullivan (50) saw the Cork men fire ahead but despite losing star midfielder Ciaran McManus to a yellow card, Kevin Kilmurray's side hit back.
James Coughlan pointed in the aftermath of O'Sullivan's strike and that long range effort inspired his namesake - Neville to blast to Kieran Murphy's net for a 1-12 to 2-08 lead.
Cork - who lost Nicholas Murphy to a yellow card also - replied with points from Micheal O Croinin and skipper Sean Levis but even though Offaly had a probable point from Scott Brady ruled out, the midlanders drew level through Niall McNamee at the death.
