Fine Gael candidates in the local elections will oppose any plans to increase property taxes, according to Taoiseach Enda Kenny.

The Taoiseach says he is making it a key issue in the party's election campaign.

Councillors elected in May will have the right to lower or raise property taxes by 15%, as they see fit.
