'Joy riding' man back in Garda custody

The 23-year old man charged with stealing a car used in a "joy riding" incident in Limerick, has been taken back into custody by gardai after earlier escaping.

The 23-year old man charged with stealing a car used in a "joy riding" incident in Limerick, has been taken back into custody by gardai after earlier escaping.

The man, from the South Hill area of Limerick City, was not present for a court appearance earlier this morning is now due in court at 3.30pm this afternoon.

A 21-year-old woman remains in a critical condition at Limerick's Mid Western Hospital as a result of the incident.
