Sporting Fingal tonight responded to losing their grip on the FAI Ford Cup last week with their biggest win of the season.

Conan Byrne punished a defensive mix-up between Yael Haro and keeper Robert Duggan to put Sporting ahead on 12 minutes.

Central defender Colin Hawkins added a second eight minutes later when heading home Byrne’s corner.

It was 3-0 just past the half hour, Gary O’Neill tapping home Ger O’Brien’s cross.

Alan Kirby added the fourth from an 82nd-minute penalty after Kevin Ross handled inside the area.

The win moves Sporting to within a point of third-placed St Patrick’s Athletic whom they host next Saturday.
