Coronation Street actor Johnny Briggs says he is lucky to be alive after a car nearly hit him.
Johnny, 67, who plays Mike Baldwin, was trying to cross a road in Hudson, Florida, when the car hurtled towards him.
It just missed him and hit a traffic light which he had been standing next to moments before, reports The Sun. Johnny was finishing a holiday at his villa with wife Christine and children Stephanie, 20, and Anthony, 14.
He'd been to a supermarket and was at a pedestrian crossing but got fed-up waiting.
He said: "I moved 15 paces in an effort to nip across. I heard a loud screech of brakes and saw a van hit the car sending it hurtling towards me.
"It shot right past me, knocking the traffic light flat and bringing electric cables to the ground. If I hadn't moved when I did I wouldn't be here. This was the closest I've been to death."
