Posh producer sued for millions in rape claim

Posh Spice’s record producer Damon Dash has been accused in court papers of raping a former model who was in a drink and drugs-induced haze, it emerged today.

Posh Spice’s record producer Damon Dash has been accused in court papers of raping a former model who was in a drink and drugs-induced haze, it emerged today.

Dash, who produced Victoria Beckham’s latest single, This Groove, is being sued in New York for £8.2m (€11.9m) after the alleged attack in Brazil on New Year’s Day last year.

Papers were filed by model Kirstie Thompson in Manhattan yesterday seeking compensation for punitive damages, pain and suffering and mental damages, her lawyer Raoul Felder said.

Earlier this month Victoria denied on Radio 1 that she had had an affair with the hip hop producer.

Ms Thompson alleged that the attack happened in a hotel room, hours after a star-studded New Year’s Eve party.

The 32-year-old said Dash approached her during the party and asked for sex, which she declined.

She alleged that the next morning he went to her hotel room and raped her for 10 to 15 seconds while she was in a drug and alcohol-induced haze.

The lawsuit claims that Dash’s actions were “outrageous and intentional and done with malice” adding that Dash “was aware (Ms Thompson) would not consent to sexual intercourse”.

Ms Thompson told the New York Post that she had drunk eight glasses of champagne and taken half a tablet of ecstasy before the attack.

Ms Thompson, who is a concierge for a top fashion house in Manhattan, said she was in Brazil at the time of the attack, working for supermodel Naomi Campbell.

The party was thrown by New York millionaire Mario Ganero, and was attended by the president of Brazil, Ms Thompson said.

A spokeswoman for Dash, Amanda Silverman, called the lawsuit baseless.

“These are ludicrous allegations. Damon hasn’t been charged with anything,” she said.

Last month Radio 1 host Chris Moyles asked Posh about rumours which were circulating about her and Dash.

He asked: “Are you ...?

She cut him off, saying: “Having an affair?”

She continued: “No, it’s ridiculous. But people want to insinuate all sorts of stupid things.”
