Wexford shock Cork to reach final

Paul Murphy was the goal hero as Mick Wallace's Wexford amateurs stunned Cork City to reach the League of Ireland Cup final against Derry City next month.

It looked like not being Cork's night when they missed an eighth minutes penalty - Denis Behan shooting against a post after Lawrie Dudfield was taken down by Paul Rossiter.

Youths then silenced the 1,700 home crowd to score on 24 minutes when Gavin Doyle released Murphy to race through to shoot past Mick Devine.

Behan hit a post again on 37 minutes while he and Liam Kearney both had efforts cleared off the line in the second half by Connor Sinnott and Patsy Malone as Youths held on for the biggest win in their history.
