North: Drivers quizzed in death crash probe

More than 1,000 drivers were stopped by police today as part of an investigation into a double death crash in west Belfast.

More than 1,000 drivers were stopped by police today as part of an investigation into a double death crash in west Belfast.

A 15-year-old girl and a 22-year-old man died in the accident on the Falls Road a week before Christmas.

Police said officers received further information about the incident as a result of the overnight operation at the scene.

The victims were travelling in a Vauxhall Cavalier car which was in collision with a Mercedes taxi near St Louis Comprehensive school.

A further eight people were treated in hospital following the crash, which happened around 2am on December 18.
