Clare Council awards €22m contract for Moher visitor centre

Clare County Council has awarded a €22m contract to build a controversial new visitor centre at the Cliffs of Moher.

Clare County Council has awarded a €22m contract to build a controversial new visitor centre at the Cliffs of Moher.

The existing centre at the tourist site will now be demolished to allow the interpretive centre to be built.

The project was first mooted 15 years ago and became embroiled in a series of planning and financial disputes.
