NTMA staff share €2m bonus pot

Hundreds of staff at NAMA and the National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) shared a bonus pot worth €2m last year.

New figures show that 14 staff at the NTMA also earn more than the Taoiseach, on salaries of €250,000.

Some 75% of NTMA staff were paid bonuses last year averaging just under €8,000 each. However some of the payments are thought to have been significantly higher.

The NTMA is no longer borrowing money on the international markets while Ireland is being funded by the EU and the IMF.

The figures were revealed in a parliamentary question to the Fianna Fáil TD Michael McGrath.

Last month the chief executives of NAMA and the NTMA gave up their bonuses - but these figures show that 258 staff at the agency were given top-up payments.
