Northern Alliance claim Taliban defences seriously hit
The opposition Northern Alliance in Afghanistan is claiming Taliban defences north of the capital Kabul have been seriously hit.
US fighter jets have been pounding areas where the Taliban militia and the opposition, the United Front movement, face each other from the trenches.
It comes amid claims of mass defections among the ruling regime.
