Talks are getting underway at the Labour Court today in a bid to avert a strike that would ground Aer Lingus flights.
Trade union IMPACT last week served notice on the company after cabin crew at Dublin, Cork, Shannon and Heathrow airports overwhelmingly rejected a new deal offered to them by the company.
The one-day strike is planned for Wednesday.
Speaking ahead of today's talks, IMPACT spokesperson Bernard Harbour said it was hard to say what the outcome of talks will be.
"Of course we hoped to reach a settlement but it is hard to see one at this stage. We have been in some sort of talks since October, including two visits to the Labour Curt and direct negotiations with the company," he said.
