Chelsea were struggling in the absence of Didier Drogba and found themselves frustrated by Porto in the first 45 minutes of their Champions League clash at Stamford Bridge.

Frank Lampard had early chances for Carlo Ancelotti’s men but the Portuguese champions had opportunities of their own in a match played in teeming rain.

Their main threat came from the physical presence of Givanildo Vieira de Souza - known as Hulk – who was a handful for John Terry and Ricardo Carvalho.
