Kildare jockey Paul Carberry has been forced to withdraw from today’s feature event at the Cheltenham Festival.

Carberry was due to pilot the highly-fancy Nicky Henderson-trained Marlborough in the Gold Cup but after a heavy fall in yesterday’s Royal and Sun Alliance Chase, he revealed this morning that a wrist injury is forcing him to sit out the final day of the Festival.

A decision on who will replace Carberry will be made later this morning.
