This teaser for season four of Downton has our petticoats all a-quiver.

The new trailer for Downton Abbey is out

The nights are getting longer, the kids are back in school and finally… some decent telly is on the way.

Season 4 of hits our screens later this month, and ITV have whetted our appetites for the big house with this new teaser trailer.

We'll finally get to find out what becomes of Lady Mary after the dramatic events of last season's finale, plus we welcome six new characters to the ranks, including Gary Carr as the series' first black character, American jazz singer Jack Ross.

Former 'EastEnders' actor Nigel Harman - who portrayed bad boy Dennis Rickman in the soap from 2003 to 2005 - will play a visiting valet called Green, while Dame Kiri Te Kanawa will play famed opera singer Dame Nellie Melba.

Other new faces include 'Black Mirror' star Tom Cullen as Lord Gillingham, an old childhood friend of Lady Mary (and apparently her new love interest), Dame Harriet Walter as Lady Shackleton, a friend of the Dowager Countess, Joanna David, who will guest star as the Duchess of Yeovil, and Julian Ovenden as aristocrat Charles Blake.

Can't. Wait.
