Tiger Woods has again failed to hit the first fairway for the third day running, ending up in a similar spot to the one he found himself in on Thursday.

This time there was to be no escape with a par however, his third shot running 12 feet past and his par putt staying above ground.

The world number one also missed the second fairway by a comfortable distance, but this time produced a well-judged pitch to three feet to save par and remain four under.

Colin Montgomerie, who received a thunderous ovation as he strolled on to the first tee, also missed the fairway on the first but was able to reach the front edge of the green and made par.
