Dublin 3-9, Derry 1-9
Dublin went from zeroes to heroes in the space of just 70 minutes at Clones dumping dismal Derry out of the championship and cofirming their own intentions to stick around for the summer.
Boss Tommy Lyons shuffled his deck from defence to attack and introduced a host of new faces including Darren Homan, Senan Connell and Dessie Farrell.
The ploy worked a treat and between them the experienced trio combined to pick off all but three points of their overall tally.
First up was Farrell on 28 minutes when he seized on hesitancy in the Derry defence following Shane Ryan's long ball in to blast home left footed from close range.
Club colleague Senan Connell then bagged a second goal before the break to leave Dublin crusing at 2-4 to 0-5.
It got better after the break when sub Jason Sherlock stole the show with an impressive 1-3 and a 57th minute goal that had class written all over it.
