Ruby Walsh today withdrew his appeal against the careless riding ban he picked up at Ascot on Saturday.
The Irish-based rider was stood down on January 21, 22 and 23 after he was found to have allowing his mount Manly Money to hang in on the bend, causing Thieves’glen to clip heels in the EBF Princes Trust Novices’ Hurdle.
Walsh had lodged his appeal on Tuesday morning but has since had second thoughts.
His ban will take effect on the original dates, ruling him out of the Thyestes Chase meeting at Gowran Park on January 22.
