Dubai police want head of Israel's spy agency arrested

Interpol has put 11 people suspected in the slaying of a Hamas militant leader in Dubai on its most-wanted list.

Dubai police have called on Interpol to issue an arrest warrant for the head of Israel's spy agency Mossad - if the organisation is found to be responsible for the killing of a Hamas militant in Dubai.

The international agency said it has issued red notices, its highest-level alert, to its member countries worldwide for the suspects.

Interpol said it was acting on the request of Dubai authorities.

In Ireland, the Secretary General of the Department of Foreign Affairs met with the Israeli ambassador in Dublin to discuss the issue.

Foreign Affairs Minister Micheál Martin has described the incident as an extremely serious one.
