Junior doctors will hold a one day national strike on Wednesday, September 25.
Following a meeting this afternoon, the organisation announced that each week from the week beginning September 30, a strike will also be called in at least one hospital in each region in the country.
It follows a vote by 97% of junior doctors in favour of industrial action.
The Irish Medical Organisation said the HSE is in breach of an EU working hours directive and non consultant doctors are routinely working shifts of up to 36 hours in a row.
The HSE has been served notice of the action.
