A record daily number of foot and mouth cases has been confirmed as Britain's foot and mouth crisis shows no signs of ending and the disease spreads to one more county.
By lunchtime, 16 more cases had been confirmed, taking the total number of outbreaks to 123.
Somerset recorded its first outbreak, at a farm near Axbridge, and there were further cases in several other counties.
Chief veterinary officer Jim Scudamore said counties where cases were discovered for the first time would now get priority in terms of trying to find a cause for the outbreaks.
He said: "Cases are still occurring in different parts of the country but also in predominant parts (where the disease is already known to exist)".
"There are links to other cases and most of them are linked to the movement of sheep or sheep farms. If we find disease in a new county, they have top priority to see where the disease has come from."
