Corrie star: My character should sleep with Rosie for money

Craig Kelly thinks his alter-ego should sleep with Rosie Webster for money.

The ‘Coronation Street’ actor – who plays Luke Strong in the ITV soap – is thrilled his character is interested in the outspoken teenager and doesn’t see the “harm” in him having sex with her in exchange for cash.

He said: “Rosie’s a sexy little vixen and he likes that. Luke used to be a player and I think she appeals to that side of him. It’s a bit of fun, he’s getting some cash out of it. Where’s the harm?”

Rosie was recently given a large sum of money from her ex-lover John Stape (Graeme Hawley) – who felt guilty after he kidnapped her last year – and is considering investing in factory Underworld, which Luke is looking after for his former colleague Carla Connor (Alison King).

But Craig admits his on-screen persona is only interested in Rosie’s money.

He explained: “What does he see in Rosie? £150,000 basically! She’s been flirting with him for a while but the cash has made her a bit of a catch. Luke’s just been hurt by his ex-girlfriend Michelle, who he really liked, so he enjoys Rosie’s attention.

“Luke doesn’t care what others think. Besides, it’s not bad having a sexy young minx on your arm, is it?”
