Experienced Bradford City defender Robert Molenaar has suffered a setback in his recovery from a rib injury.

The Dutch-born defender, who sustained the injury in the Bantams’ FA Cup defeat at Walsall in early January, had been expected to take part in a reserve team game against Manchester United last Thursday.

But the former Leeds star was forced to pull out at the last minute.

A club spokesman said: ‘‘Robert was due to play for the reserves last week but he pulled out because of a slight reaction.’’
