Education Minister Noel Dempsey is due to meet school management, parents and public representatives in Limerick today to discuss the case of 16 children who have been denied a second-level place in the city.
Schools in Limerick have refused to enrol the children, most of whom are from disadvantaged areas.
Yesterday, Mr Dempsey warned that he may introduce regulations forcing schools to accept such students if the situation in Limerick is not resolved.
