Ireland’s Johnny O’Connor has been named in the Barbarians squad for this month’s two-match tour of Britain.

The Wasps forward is among a number of new caps for the Barbarians, who will play against Scotland on May 24 month before a fixture in England four days later.

Australian Greg Holmes will join countrymen Matt Burke, Owen Finegan and Wendell Sailor in the squad.

Barbarians president Micky Steele-Bodger said: “As a club we believe in encouraging up-and-coming talent in any way we can.”

O’Connor will be part of a 31-man squad comprising 11 nationalities as the Barbarians look to extend their nine-match unbeaten run in Scotland.

Northampton’s former South Africa captain Corne Krige will feature in the forward pack for the matches at Aberdeen’s Pittodrie and Twickenham.
