Cane Brake cleared to run in Irish Grand National

Tom Taaffe's Cane Brake has been given the go-ahead to compete in Monday's Powers Whiskey Irish National at Fairyhouse.

Tom Taaffe's Cane Brake has been given the go-ahead to compete in Monday's Powers Whiskey Irish National at Fairyhouse.

Taaffe had been concerned with the drying ground all week, but is happy enough for Cane Brake to compete among a 30-strong field, which includes Juveigneur, Whyso Mayo and Cheltenham winner Cloudy Lane.

Cane Brake came fifth in the recent Cheltenham Gold Cup.
