Hospital patients transferred after Wexford power-cut

A number of patients have been transferred from Wexford Regional Hospital following an overnight power-cut.

A number of patients have been transferred from Wexford Regional Hospital following an overnight power-cut.

Up to 1,000 homes around Wexford town were left without electricity after a black-out caused by a fault on the line and bad weather.

ESB emergency crews are still working to restore power to about 400 households in the area.

A company spokesman said the local hospital decided to move some patients when its back-up generator failed to kick in.
