The Duchess of York's former personal assistant killed her lover after discovering sexy e-mails he had sent to another woman, a court has been told.
Jane Andrews hit businessman Thomas Cressman over the head with a cricket bat and stabbed him to death with a kitchen knife, the Old Bailey heard.
Andrews, 34, pleads not guilty to murdering Mr Cressman, 39, at their home in Maltings Place, Fulham, west London, between September 15 and September 19 last year.
Andrews was filled with anger and jealousy after seeing sexy e-mails written in "cheap novelette style" by Mr Cressman, 39, to another woman, alleged Bruce Houlder QC, prosecuting.
In one of them, he described Andrews as "a pair of old slippers" and went on to talk about sexual encounters with the woman called Deborah in the US.
Mr Houlder said Andrews discovered the correspondence and just before Mr Cressman's death, posted copies to his parents adding: "Now this is what I've got to contend with".
Andrews, who grew up in Grimsby, Lincolnshire, spent nine years working for the duchess as her assistant and dresser until 1997.
Mr Houlder said Andrews and Mr Cressman had been living together for two years and had returned from a trip to the South of France in September, last year, when the tragedy unfolded.
Andrews suspected Mr Cressman had been having affairs and thought that the e-mail relationship had developed after he went on a stag weekend in the US.
Mr Houlder said Mr Cressman is thought to have been killed in the early hours of September 17, as he prepared for bed.
The trial continues.
