Four Irish players are nursing injuries after the World Cup opener against Cameroon.

Jason McAteer is the biggest fear and could miss the clash.

Shay Given has a hip injury, Steve Finnan has a groin injury while Ian Harte has a problem with his calf.

But Manager Mick McCarthy does not believe it will keep the trio out of the match against Germany. ‘‘None of them will miss the game, they will all be okay,’’ he said.

Jason McAteer took another knock on his left knee and is a doubt for the Germany game, however.
