Bobo Balde returned to the heart of the Celtic defence for the Champions League clash with Manchester United in Glasgow.
The Guinea international, who had only played two CIS Insurance Cup games this season after an operation in the summer to sure a stomach complaint, replaced Gary Caldwell who was ruled out with a knee injury.
However, there was a surprise when Hoops manager Gordon Strachan drafted in Dutch youngster Evander Sno at the expense of midfielder Shaun Maloney who started as substitute.
United manager Alex Ferguson made just one change to his side which beat Sheffield United at the weekend, bringing in Gabriel Heinze for Patrice Evra who dropped to the bench.
