A brace of goals from Alan Moore and a third from David Crawley moved Shels seven points clear at the top of the table and almost certain now to retain their title.

Moore headed home skipper Owen Heary’s cross to put Shels in front against the run of play on ten minutes.

Ex-Shels winger Dessie Baker had Town level eleven minutes later when beating Steve Williams from 20 yards.

A bizarrely awarded free-kick restored Shels’ lead on 37 minutes with Crawley cracking a stunning shot to the roof of the net.

Moore then clinched it eleven minutes from time when diving low to head home Wes Hoolahan’s cross.
