The Oireachtas committee on enterprise and small business has invited the Irish Road Haulage Association to a special meeting next week to discuss rising fuel prices.

The IRHA mounted a demonstration outside the Dáil today to protest at the increasing cost of fuel, which it said was threatening its members’ livelihoods.

Fianna Fáil TD Donie Cassidy, the chairman of the Oireachtas committee on enterprise and small business, said today that the committee would do all it could to help the sector.
