Police in the US had to break a sex shop owner out of handcuffs.

The man had accidentally locked himself in the item when he was testing them at his adult entertainment store in Orange, near New Haven.

Assistant Chief Constable Ed Koether revealed shop employees had tried to set the owner free before giving up and calling the fire brigade, followed by the police, who eventually removed the handcuffs with bolt cutters, the Connecticut Post reports.

The officials even tried some keys before chopping the cuffs off as the item was similar to pairs they use to arrest people.
