Millman senior said of the 15-2 winner: “He didn’t progress over five furlongs and he really wants seven; we always thought he wanted a trip.

“He is a nice horse and he should run well to the end of the season.

“We weren’t too worried about the ground as we knew he would stay the trip well.”
