Security officials say four Palestinians have been killed during an Israeli raid on a West Bank village.

The policemen died during an exchange of fire in Anabta.

Israel Radio reports that the soldiers were attacked first.

Anabta Mayor Hamdallah Hamdallah told the Palestinian news agency Wafa that the four police were shot in cold blood.

Witnesses say Israeli forces detained 25 people in Anabta.

Palestinians say Israeli forces took over two floors of the Anabta village council building.

One was used by the police and Force 17, an elite unit of Arafat's security, declared a terrorist group last week in a statement from Israel's Cabinet that followed suicide bombings in Haifa and Tel Aviv.
