Gardaií in Co Clare are seeking help from the public in tracing the whereabouts of a missing German tourist.

Gardaií in Co Clare are seeking help from the public in tracing the whereabouts of a missing German tourist.

The woman in her 40s has not been seen since Friday afternoon and failed to board her return flight from Shannon to Dusseldorf yesterday.

She had spent much of last week visiting Doolin and the Cliffs of Moher and her disappearance has sparked an air and sea search along the Co Clare coast.

Gardaí say the woman has a very distinctive hairstyle, with long, shoulder-length, black hair cut tight at both sides.

She was also carrying a large black bag over her shoulder and was wearing blue or grey pants, a black anorak and walking boots when she was last seen.
