Midfielder Alberto Aquilani is a doubt for Liverpool’s Europa League last-16 second leg at home to Lille tomorrow as he has been laid low with a virus.

The Italy international, who was man of the match in Monday’s 4-1 Barclays Premier League win over Portsmouth, missed training today because of sickness and will be assessed tomorrow.

Fellow midfielder Maxi Rodriguez drops out of the squad as he is ineligible for European competition but apart from defenders Martin Skrtel (foot) and Fabio Aurelio (thigh) manager Rafael Benitez has a fully-fit squad.

Provisional squad: Reina, Johnson, Agger, Carragher, Krygiakos, Insua, Gerrard, Mascherano, Lucas, Aquilani, Riera, Ngog, Kuyt, Torres, Benayoun, Cavalieri, Pacheco, Spearing, Babel, Kelly, Degen.
