Fulham owner Mohamed al-Fayed believes his club can win the Premiership next season.

The billionaire Harrods owner, who has bankrolled the Cottagers’ phenomenal rise from the lower divisions into the big time, made his ambitions clear as fans gathered in west London to see the First Division championship trophy paraded.

‘‘After all the work we have done, I think we are seeing the results now,’’ he said.

‘‘I am sure that next year we are going to be the champions of the Premier League.’’

Asked if funds were available for manager Jean Tigana to strengthen his squad this summer, al-Fayed told Sky Sports: ‘‘We are going full blast.’’
